Placement

  1. This service is offered to parents/carers who are:
  2. In employment
  3. In further education or training
  4. Fulfil a need for respite care
  5. Places will be allocated to each of the following primary schools – Bowhouse, Moray, Sacred Heart Primary and Beancross Schools.
  6. Allocation will be made on a first come, first serve basis.
  7. Priority will be given to existing service users.
  8. A waiting list will operate when all places are filled.
  9. Care cannot be offered to a child absent from school through illness or exclusion.
  10. One month’s notice will be given on termination of a place or fees paid in lieu.
  11. Parent / Carers have the right to swap one day’s child care within each school session, this is only applicable if it does not affect staff/child ratio and a place is available.
  12. In times of high demand, when a waiting list is in operation, any days cancelled will be reallocated if needed. This means your day cannot be re-instated if already given to another child.

Payment

  1. Fees are payable one month in advance.
  2. Invoices will be issued on or as near as possible the first of the month.
  3. Fees are due for payment on the 1st of each month
  4. If payment is not forthcoming by the 15th of the month a £5.00 fine will be imposed.
  5. You will be issued with a letter advising you when childcare will cease if payment is still not made.
  6. Payment by cheque or cash.  Any cheques that “bounce” will result in Grange Kidz being charged by the bank. Therefore, there will be a charge of £5 to the person whose cheque has “bounced”. If your cheque bounces more than 3 times in succession your childcare place maybe cancelled.
  7. Fees are due unless Grange Kidz is closed for public holidays or school holidays. You do not need to use the Holiday play scheme, you will not be changed for this period unless you use it.
  8. If the child is absent for whatever reason including illness and holidays taken during term time fees are still payable for that period.
  9. If illness is long term [longer than 4 weeks] the place will only continue at the discretion of the senior staff.
  10. Parent/carers will receive at least one month’s notice of any changes to the fees at Grange Kidz.
  11. In the event of adverse weather and any other emergency conditions which result in closure of the club, you  will not be refunded for the first 5 days in any one continuous period, but will be refunded 50% of any charge made for any further consecutive days.

Information Required

  1. All children must be registered with Grange Kidz prior to starting at the scheme.
  2. A registration form with a second contact number [in case we cannot contact you in an emergency] must be completed for each child attending Grange Kidz.
  3. A child profile will be completed by the staff soon after starting with us. This will help us to care for your child more effectively. These profiles are only available to staff and parents.
  4. Information about your child can be passed to the appropriate services if the staff are sufficiently concerned about their welfare.  We do not have to consult with you if this is not in the best interest of the child. Our child protection policy is available to any parent/carer.
  5. Every parent/carer should choose a security number which you should be familiar with. In the event someone unknown to the staff is collecting your child this number should be quoted and the senior staff should be informed beforehand.
  6. If you are going to be late picking up your child please try to let us know as staff cover may have to be arranged. There will be a £2:00 late fee charge for each time you are late collecting your child.
  7. If your child is absent from school, it is YOUR responsibility to inform Grange Kidz, so that staff do not waste time looking for a missing child.

General Information

  1. It is imperative that parents/ guardians ensure that their child/children know which days they are attending Grange Kidz.   It is your duty to remind your child/ children and if necessary, write a note to the class teacher.
  2. While all reasonable care will be taken staff cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to belongings on the premises.
  3. In the event of extreme behaviour from a child, causing danger to the other children in the play setting, Grange Kidz will contact the parent/guardian to discuss possible solutions.  The management committee reserves the right to exclude a child, if the child is a serious hazard to other children in the play setting.

Complaints Procedure
In the first instance complaints should be directed to the senior staff of the group. If this proves unsatisfactory or for any reason you do not wish to speak to the senior staff, complaints should be put in writing and addressed to the Chairperson of Grange Kidz. Letters should be sent to the normal Kids Club address.  If you are not satisfied with the way that Grange Kidz has dealt with the complaint, you should contact the Care Commission.  The address is available from the Policy/Procedure Manual in the Club.
